I saw this little mention in Scratch magazine that the only people to have delivered platinum hits in three decades - 80's, 90's and 2000 onwards - are Dr. Dre and the Beastie Boys. That right there says something.

Nice post Jacob. I agree that "no one can do it better". I'm trying to understand how this is "dick-riding" when all this is doing is pointing out how great this man has been for sooo long...Even his "misses" have at least gone gold and even though he did not officially produce any joints on Dogg Food, all you have to do is listen and you can hear Dre all over the final product...Dre haters are always talking about Quik, Daz and the rest but I"m sure these "great producers" would be happy with one of Dre's "misses" at this point...I mean, these guys can't even sell/produce gold let alone platinum. I know it's not always about sales but when one man puts out product and it sells on an average of two to four million and the next man can't even sell 500,000, it's obvious people want to hear this man's music......Eazy, Heller, Suge Knight, Cube, Ice T, Above the Law, Snoop and others can all take credit for helping to put THE WEST out their but it's Dr. Dre who really put the West on the map and keeps it there even through lean times. It's a shame the HATERS cannot and will not recognize.

dr dre did not produce livin' like hustlers.  cold 187um did.  dre was given credit as ruthless had a deal with epic for dre produced albums.

court documents showed that dr dre was secretly paid as a producer for work on "dogg food".  he didn't receive outright credit other than mixing because if he had ruthless records would have gotten a cut.  which i believe they did after those documents emerged in court.  i don't know what tracks dre was allegedly paid as a producer for.
