When loading an Operating System??????

i was wondering how do u like load the OS to the hardrive......like so u dont get those messages "insert windows 98" when u are installing something???  Like for example i have my pc that i never had to load windows 98 for anything again..............i know that when u install windows 98 for the first time...........u can do this so its installed permanetly on your hardrive...........but how do u do that???

i would get the disc that came with the computer..and load that up..if u dont have that i'm not sure..get a copy of it..or something..or possibly just reboot ur whole system,like a system recovery or something, cleaning out everything and starting all over..but thats probably something u dont wanna do...
