How do you guys feel about this? Should they be allowed into these organizations?

Only if they are qualified, but if they are hired part of an employee equity program I am 100% opposed to that.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

So you want a 5 foot,  110 pound woman trying to pull you out of a building?

The majority are hired by some program or agency and given second and third tries to pass their physicals.

Hell, some even get bonuses for just showing up to a fire, when a man gets no bonus for the same thing.

thats true. we would want the best firefighetrs and policemen of women out there. theres a big investigation going on right now in richmond B.C. as alll of the women in the fire department there have left the force. one committed suicide i believe a few yrs back, a few just quit their jobs and just recently a few filed i think sexual abuse charges or some kind of harrasement charges against the fire  dpeartment stating that theyre not treated equally and that theyve been abused in a number of ways. i think that the other firemen put feces in their boots, put up hardcore porn to make them feel uncmfortable and made like derogaroty phrases aginast them.

Yeah I agree that is complete bullshit, equality doesn't necessarily mean things have to be the exact same but the pseudo-feminism that is rampant in the West is ridiculous.

See to me that is valid if they are being harrassed. As long as they do a good job they should be left alone.

I doubt a 5 foot 110 pound women would even pass all the physical test to be inducted into the fire department. I was tallking to this guy at a rec center and he told ma about all the training you had to go through. Trust me a 110 pound person wouldn't pass the training. If some how they are phyiscally capable, then sure I'd want her to pull me out of a building.
If the case where that they are given "second and third tries to pass their physicals" then I'd be oppsed to that, but you never mentioned that in your original post.

I don't have a problem with it at all.  I know that if a woman is a firefighter, she is qualified.  I know a guy who wanted to become a firefighter, but he's too short so he can't.  So the woman would obviously have to be a beast.

I think it depends on where you live too, doesn't the US have really tough laws on affirmative action programs? I'm pretty sure Ontario has scrapped them down to almost nothing.

it depends on how strong she is.  and she could drive the truck, or turn on the hose or something if she can't carry cats.

sounds like a sweet deal for the skirts.

women don't have true equality in this society, so you see these weird inversions in certain cases to overcompensate.  then you have these cats that don't respect women trying to point at the inversions in order to roll back the initiatives that are well meaning and only strive for equality.

why not realize true equality first, then worry about minor details like this.  i see people wanting to take away from women what little they actually have, yet give them nothing in return.  lets make things fair in a meaningful manner first.  then clean up these abnormalities.

i'd like to see an equal rights amendment ratified.  i'd like to see a situation where any company that were paying women less than men for the same job could be sued and fined...etc.  let's eliminate those discrepancies first.  then we can worry about frail women trying to play fireman, or pregnant women expecting the world to stop while they are on maternity leave.  equality first!

I got nothing against women in the fire department. The thing is, the majority of women are not qualified. They're allowed in the department so that the county/city can avoid lawsuits.

I know a guy in the fire department. He said they were running drills and a woman around 5'4 and 125 was suppose to pull him out of a simulated burning building. Now he's around 6'1, 200+ pounds. She gave up on him after 30 seconds.

Yes, women deserve equality, but at what price? We can't fuck around when it comes to people's lives. My friend also told me one of his fellow firewomen had to be carried out by the people she was suppose to be rescuing LOL.

I don't wanna be misinterpreted. There are many women who deserve to be in the fire department and pull their weight. They get treated with lots of respect by their male collegues too. It's these petite women that believe they can "be anything they put their mind to" and actually get accepted to the FD that I have beef with.

Equal opportunity with equal physical ability.

i think women have about 72% as much as men in the u.s..  slightly higher in some places.  significantly lower in others.  i'd like to see that number closer to 98% across the board; personally.
