When Democracy equals Empire
« on: April 13, 2006, 03:09:49 PM »
click on the link to hear some real shit being spoke on this topic. Trauma, CWalker? Where ya at?

"In ancient Greece, the citizen was seen as a able, trusted element of the state, in the present era, the citizen is virtually superfluously. He is a tax source, she is one who obeys her leaders, he is a dispensable cog in the wheel, who's only real duty is to do what one is told.

Consider the mass demonstrations of spring 2003, when millions took to the streets of Washington, London and San Francisco, demanding that there be no war in Iraq.

Here, in the alleged democracies of England, and the U.S., governments ignored the people, and engaged in Imperial War on a lie. In ancient Greece, some 2500 years ago, this wouldn't have been allowed.

We don't live in a democracy; we live under the rule of a few. We live in an empire." -- Mumia Abu-Jamal

Absolutely right we all know from being a conspiracy theory its a conspiracy plot that mostly all of the presidents have come from skull and bones. That Kerry and Bush came from the same damn frat group should surprise no one. Thankyou for the link its a very intelligent thoughtful piece, notice also how the most free and fair elections ever held by the palestinians results in condemnation by governments around the world democracy is denounced when the outcome doesnt fit the agenda of those at the centre of power. It makes me sick each time there are massive protests and yet they are ignored but you know what? that only adds fuel to the fire and soon more and more people will protest and it will become more and more outspoken publicly until at some point they will have to listen. Regardless of all of these tyrannical draconian oppressive laws which are being brought in.

You are so pathetically transparent and predictable once again like the numerous newspapers which dont address the questions of 9/11 you only seek to assasinate his character. Regardless of what he has done it doesnt make his words any less true, its like you and your pathetic attempts to dismiss Mckinney as a nut and not actually respond to the questions she was raising to Rumfeld and Co during congress. Questions which made them look very uneasy and shakey and for which they had no real answers for.

M Dogg that first links proves a lot of good points of which I will share with a lot of people, but other then the "spreading democracy" part that presentation dosen't really apply to the USA because under the constituion AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY. It's a Republic.

our power is said to come from the people. That means that we are a democratic republic. Which neither is true.
