I appreciate Immortal Technique because I think he represents a great deal of what hip-hop was founded on, and that is a means of expression for the disenfranchised; kind of like Chuck D said it's the "black CNN".  They need more hip-hop artists like Immortal Technique, but most of them remain independant because most the major hip-hop labels are not owned (or their parent companies are not owned) by black people, but often they are owned by wealthy Jews such as Clive Davis, Lyor Cohen, Jimmy Iovine, the list goes on forever.  This is nothing against Jews in general, but if hip-hop started partly as a mechanism for oppressed groups to express themselves and inspire self-esteem and community activism; you don't want somebody else on top of you defining who you are.  For example, since Robert Johnson sold out BET to Viacom (also owned by Jews) they got rid of Tavis Smiley and their news program BET Tonight and they added Uncut, basically they've turned it into a soft black porn network.

Anyway, I don't always agree with Immortal Technique's point of view, because at times (although not often) he also speaks against Muslims.  Still, he has a right to express himself, and hip-hop is one of the greatest vehicles for self-expression ever created.

it's always down to religion isnt it c walker, i mean infinite..

the first verse of the 4th branch is perfect to me, I dont see how come not everybody loves it. That sounds strange lol, but I really dont see how people can not love this.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

I think he's a good rapper. I just hate it when artists take an authoritative role when it comes to world politics and historical affairs. I don't even like it when historians and poltical anaylsts do it, but at least they dedicate most their lives to unravel what is going on with an unbiased approach (at least that's how it's supposed to be).

i submit that you hate the authoritative tone because you disagree with it.  if you agreed with it you wouldn't hate it.

most historians and political analysts are biased.  most research is inherently biased in terms of the sources people reference and rely on.  most researchers don't start with a question, they start with a theory; and look for evidence to prove their theory.  professional researchers, who get funding and grants to verify their theories; have less reason to embrace information that undermines their work.

You obviously don't know me very well because if you did you'd know that I could care less whether I agree with the idea or not if I don't like the approach. In fact I do a gree with a lot of what Technique stands for. I just also think he is a hatefilled idiot who thinks he has all the answers (the MC Technique anyway. I don't know the man). This isn't a matter of my personal beliefs on politics or anyhting in general. I just hate false authority. When a Christian talks to me about Jesus and states everything as an authoritative fact I get annoyed and correct him or her.

I realize there is bias in historians and I even said there was, but they are far more knowing of their topics then any rapper, and they are usually not driven by hatred. This means I feel in most cases they are less bias. Many historians who study want to find the answers and not just confirm the ideas they already have. Sure you can find ones that don't but you can just as easily find ones that do. Immortal Technique comes across as someone that had his ideas laid out long before he studied the facts.

I couldn't see this guy ever publicly agreeing with anything a conservative rich white guy does even if he did agree with it

the guy is basically a communist.  what common foundation is there between him and conservative rich white guys?  people agree on the facts, they differ on the interpretation of the causes.

the root issue here is that immortal technique's struggle isn't really an intellectual argument for democratic political change.  this isn't mlk trying to convince his oppressors to desist from their bad behavior.  he's talking to the oppressed, and trying to motivate them to get active and do something to change the situation.  it's not intended to be a message to convince those it condemns. it is intended to motivate those that embrace it, to build a force that realizes change.  conservative rich white guys have no role in immortal technique's movement; ultimately they will lose their power, influence and wealth and accept the new order that is established.

I wasn't saying anything in particular he may or may not agree with. I'm stating that there is no way I could see him agreeing with it in general because of the hatred. He is a communist as you say but he has no problem finding excuses for capitolist drug dealers or cause harm to people. The guy is a bias hypocrite plain and simple. He has no movement. He just pretends to. What is he doing to try and reform? Rap a few hateful lyrics? C'mon man, he just wants to find a niche audience so he can make money and convince himself he's staying true to his beliefs.

to be clear, the guy doesn't come off as racist.  so when you say he's filled with hate, it's targetted at a specific group which he feels controls america and oppresses people within america and around the world.  i don't see a problem there.

the guy is rhyming to drug dealers as they are part of his audience. trying to "wake them up" get them to understand their situation and do better.  trying to reform them.  those are his people.  that is not hypocrisy.

alot of people share the same ideas that he has, but they do nothing.  he is doing something.  if you go to one of his shows, or hasan salaam or something; the audience believes the message.  you have activists there that do speeches, people involved in community centers and projects...etc.  it feels like a movement.  maybe it's not huge, but it exists and it's positive.  the guy disses fox news and dick cheney and now he's hateful?  these are contemptable individuals and institutions.  when you call the guy hateful, i think it's important to acknowledge "who or what" he hates.  which is largely individuals and institutions that engage in corruption, injustice an oppression.
