Something I wanna address-concerning Stillmatic...
« on: February 05, 2002, 05:49:24 PM »
There has been alot of controversy on this board about whether Stillmatic is classic or not........I say the album is definatly a classic, w/o a doubt. Before you reply saying that its not classic, im here to let yall know something.......

Im working on the Stillmatic review right now for Incognito's site [ive joined him and Jake as part of the reviewing staff, so props to both of them for putting me on], and im gonna break EVERYTHING about this album down. The site already has 3 reviews for this album, but im gonna try and make this review the best one. Just thought id let yall know...........This review is gonna be right up there with my E.1999 Eternal review....

i gave it a 4.5 ....which is a near classic rating...for now, i made it clear thoughit might hold the test of time and change to a 5 or a 4, but either way it's an album with classic potential

BIG props for actually contributing to the site homie ;)

I'd definatly say it was classic, even more so now for the pressed CD's without "Braveheart Party". Lookin' forward to peeping your review, & i'm about to go peep that "Me Against The World" review...

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

CLASSIC fo sho...Nas is on another level with this album...no one can test his lyrics are powerful and meanigfull and those beats have a nice sound that fits the subjects of those songs...my fav. track is what goes around...but that album is goin down in history as one of the best i think

Its not just you.  It's nowhere near classic.  It's okay but to call it classic is a slap in the face of hip hop.  At least XXL didnt give a XXL rating--good looking out.

It's a classic... I like what one dude said in a previous post that in the future Nas's rhymes will be studied in Universities.
