I can hear a definite difference between a 192 ripped cd online, and the actual cd.

Nah, but it's mainly in the Highs, and the mids... You can't tell much difference in the bass, but it sounds much, much crisper on an actual cd, then a burned one.  Burned cd be like "bop" Real Cd be like "Bap"

But I've tested this out before. I copped a couple of Cd's from the store that I already ripped from the net in 192 kb, and put them on my stereo while some buddies were suppose to tell the difference between them. As it turned out, they were right 50% of the times I shifted from burnt/bought/burnt/burnt/bought etc.
It takes a trained ear I guess.

yeah thats right, if u dont know the music then its hard to tell... mp3 just sounds a little 'flatter' sometimes.

You can hear the difference easily, especially if it's a GOOD artist, like Dre... I can hear definite differences in his and warren g's songs.  You'll hear whole instruments that you couldn't hear in the mp3.  Also, when Michael Jackson's new CD came out, I first had the "You rock my world" mp3... when I got the cd, it sounded muuuuuuuch better, you could hear a elevator bell go "DING" right on top of the beat, and it's almost inaudible on the mp3.  Just little stuff like that.  It's much crisper on the actual cd.. I'd say if mp3 is 192, that true cdq is probably in the 500's at least.

however it was not on the actual cd

but you will probaly get the vinyl with the song listed on the back but not actually on the cd
