The man, the myth, the legend that is Kanye West
« on: June 08, 2006, 01:21:17 PM »
Kanye West in my opinion is the greatest thing to happen to Hip Hop.  Playing both roles of musician and producer he comes out with the sickest rhymes and illest beats. Check out what he’s got up his sleeve in this great article I found…

Yes, he's dope....for now. Cats with an ego that huge usually always fall to the way side. They get so high on themselves that they only surround themselves with yes-men who mislead him and before you know it, Kanye's albums are floppin'.

No doubt I believe he’s a mad talented artist, but I believe the only problem peeps got with him is that he believes his dick drags on the pavement and says it.  Honestly though if he didnt talk like that he prob wouldn't be the talk of conversation and just a regular artist.  Like they say, "controversy sells," so I agree that he’s probably one of the greatest but the way brags also pulls him back down to an ignorant nigga with a record deal.

you guys are not understanding how Kanye West is more Hip-Hop than any artist out there, except maybe Immortal Technique. Kanye found a way to make old school production styles sell in todays market, and he is one hell of an artist. His cocky attitude is a reflection of boosting emcees from the 70's and early 80's. Kanye is as Hip-Hop as Run DMC when they walked through the Rock N Roll hall of fame, saying they were the kings of rock.

Word to all of that.

I will say that I think Kanye has been behind some of the best shit in the last few years.  He's def not my favorite rapper, but he has more substance and skill than lots of "rappers" today.  I think a cat like him is def good for hip hop.  I hope he stays creative and always trys to learn new shit.  Thats all I ask. 8)

He's definitely talented  and bringing back some sort of creativity to hip hop. I do believe his aggrogance is going to get the best of him, but until then I'll rock with it.
