LOL! what a douchebag

talk about low-down.... people who support this shit oughta be shot

I know some of u have seen this creep at night on BET....

Prophet Peter Popoff is a U.S. televangelist who has spent most of his career claiming to treat physical ailments with faith healing. He has claimed that the power of God works through him to cure various ailments, and many of his crusade services have involved him working alleged miracles by laying his hands upon members of the audience. Popoff is also known for sending packets of Miracle Spring Water to his viewers. The water is claimed to be a solution to physical and financial problems. Popoff has recently appeared on late-night U.S. television as a preacher and also in infomercials. He has promoted his "Miracle Spring Water" as a "point of contact" for divine healing. He has also preached a form of prosperity theology under the slogan "Go into business with God", claiming that God will make "divine transfers" into a viewer's "divine account". One infomercial states, "A divine transfer is supernatural. This is not money you're going to make from your job... God is going to supernaturally put money into your account."

At appearances in the 1980s, Popoff routinely and accurately stated the home addresses and specific illnesses of his audience members, a feat he allowed them to believe was due to divine revelation and "God given ability". His actual methods were discovered in 1987 when noted skeptic James Randi visited a show and discovered radio transmissions of Popoff's off-stage wife reading information which she and aides had gathered from earlier conversation with members of the audience.  Popoff would simply listen to these promptings with his in-ear receiver and repeat what he heard to the crowd. After tapes of these transmissions were played on the United States TV program The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, Popoff's popularity and viewing audiences declined sharply, and his ministry declared bankruptcy later that year.

Popoff's shows also featured audience members who were brought on stage in wheelchairs and then rose dramatically to walk without support. These were some of Popoff's most incredible healings, but what believing audience members and television viewers did not know is that wheelchairs were used by Popoff to seat people who were already able to walk. He no longer "heals" people in this way

OUTRO:

Within four weeks of submitting one's address to Popoff's automated phone service, subscribers receive in the mail from Popoff (now calling himself "Prophet Peter Popoff") a three-page essay filled with elaborate biblical language and red-ink imitation handwriting. Instead of the promised "Miracle Water", included is a tiny plastic "Golden Tablet" and a "Miracle Band" (a cardboard bracelet marked simply with "JIREH", Popoff purports that the "Golden Tablet" was made by God and intended to create immense wealth for the subscriber. Popoff then insists that the subscriber wear the "Miracle Band" while posting him a check for $28.30 (related to Exodus 28:30 in some way), in order to receive further instructions on how to use the "Golden Tablet".

I'm speechless  :D

I wonder what he had to say for God when he went bankrupt?

I say I'm mad at them but I'm really just jealous

Quote
"A doctor, meanwhile, lodged a police complaint against Hinn and the organisers of the show, seeking action for what he said was the death of a man due to cardiac arrest after being pushed by Hinn on the stage on Saturday".

Claim of prophetic ability

Benny Hinn claims to be a prophet of God and regularly issues specific prophecies regarding events that he claims will occur within specific periods of time. However, he has a documented history of making prophecies that have not come true (see below for a partial list). Since, according to the definition specified by the Bible that true prophets inspired by God can never be incorrect in their prophecies, [though this too can be debated because Jonah's prophecy, for example, did not come true even though he was a true prophet Jonah 3:4,, 4:1-2], many Christian apologetics ministries, primarily those who oppose the Word Faith movement in general, consider Benny Hinn to be a false prophet.
[edit]

Examples of questionable prophecies

    * "The Spirit tells me - Fidel Castro will die - in the 90's. Oooh my! Some will try to kill him and they will not succeed. But there will come a change in his physical health, and he will not stay in power, and Cuba will be visited of God."

          http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=420067844

    * "The Lord also tells me to tell you in the mid 90’s, about ’94-’95, no later than that, God will destroy the homosexual community of America. [audience applauds] But He will not destroy it – with what many minds have thought Him to be, He will destroy it with fire. And many will turn and be saved, and many will rebel and be destroyed."

Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31, 1989 (audio)

    * "The Spirit of God tells me an earthquake will hit the East Coast of America and destroy much in the '90s. Not one place will be safe from earthquakes in the '90s. These who have not known earthquakes will know it. People, I feel the Spirit all over me!"

Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31, 1989

    * "We may have two years before the rapture. Can I be blunt with you? I don't know if we have two years left. I'm going to prove to you from the Word tonight, that we have less than two years, unless the Lord changes his mind."

          November 9, 1990 Praise-a-Thon

    * "But here's first what I see for TBN. You're going to have people raised from the dead watching this network. You're going to have people raised from the dead watching TBN. Programs -- just plain programs -- programs that haven't done much when it comes to supernatural manifestations -- teaching programs!" (http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=420067844 has an audio of this and Hinn was referring to people physically being raised from the dead.)

October 19, 1999 Praise The Lord, Trinity Broadcasting Network

    * "Jesus is coming again within the next two years."

July 1997, fund-raising telethon on TBN

LOL! this reminds me, I went to a Benny Hinn thing a long time ago when I was 9 or 10. My aunt took me lol. I was only 10 years old and I was laughing at all these people. I felt bad fo rthem because they worshipped this man like he was God and he was just taking their money. He did put on a good show though lol.

"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
