"Sopranos" meets "The wire"

Theres a new show on showtime or showtime on-demand called "The Brotherhood" that centers on two Irish-American brothers. One's a straight up gangster making fools respect him again after going on the lam and the other one is a politician tryin' to do the right thing with his wife and kids. Located in Rhode Island in a climate of Black vs Irish tension, It has potential. I thought the "can you hear me now?" jokes were played out, but there's a scene where the gangster brother grabs a guys ear and says "can you hear me now?" then cuts it off. I wont give away any more.
