I guess you're right, Cali,iz NOT active.  But it could me something more than sales guys.  The fact that this album dropped with the video that came out, it could be just the start of the new westcoast movement.  At least they are trying to show theres a push on the west and trying to get new material and new artists to come out now.  At the end of the day, I really think "Cali Iz Active" was NOT about sales, but more about the west.

How are they trying to get new artists out? Daz, Kurupt, and Snoop, have all been in the game for 10+ years. The only people getting any respect in the West are Dre, Snoop Dogg, Game, and maybe Xzibit. All of those artisrs except for Game have been in the hip hop Game for at least 10 years. The only reason The Game is doing so well is because he has (had?) Dre's back. Who else can put out records and get gaurnteed promo for it?
The South is on top right now not becuase they are more marketable (which they are right now) or because they are making better music. They are on top because they are getting support from their people. There fans aren't so damn hyporcritcal about what they want out of there music. And it isn't about lowering standards either, it's just that they aren't so uptight about there hometown artists. There are also many other factors, but that is the backbone of it.

^ so true. I think we were spoiled with all of the dope albums that came out in the 90's. Some people do not understand why that cannot be rekindled. Back then the Bay and LA were doing their thing and everybody was eating. But now there is all this bay vs la. I don't know when all of a sudden people started hating on E-40. 40 water! I am all for the new west getting their shine also, but I think we are going to have to accept and embrace the new artists coming up and trust that they do not need the og artists to be successfull.
