We were discussing this at work today, the 90s cant really be charecterised like all the other decades.

most of us grew up in the 90s, but there really isnt anything you can point out and say, "that is typically 90s"

and i'm not talking about music, just eveerything

for example, when you think 80s, you think miami vice pastel suits, big hair with lots of hairspray, etc.... the same for other decades, there are things that make them stand out

the only thing i could think about was gangsta rap, but then there was grunge too...what cames to mind when you think 90s???

-Super NES
-Coin-ops
-Controversy over violence in the entertainment world (games, movies, music)
-Anime's entrance in the western world
-Srebrenica Dutchbat debacle
-Clinton
-Internet
-Gangsterism in hip hop
-The transition of hip hop in general from a controversial musical entity with a message to club/radio friendly mass consumption
-Setting a standard for hip hop/R&B collabos (see above)
-House music in all its various forms
-X pills

These just came to mind sure there's more...

Oh and a certain record label that had the rap game on lock during the early 90s until, say, 96...

Anyways 90's was major for hip hop. The look was tight becuz it was strictly the thugin' scrub look now everybody dressin 'grown up'. Ha, that's what I was likein bout the 90's. That style.
