I disagree with you on writing ability.  He writes about gangsta shit, and he makes it sound much more interesting than , well , anyone.  So he doesn't write about the latest landscape tips and atkins diet, big deal, I don't wanna hear about that, I listen to gangsta rap, to, well hear gangsta shit.

Tha Eastsidaz f/ FT - Hightimes
Tray Deee f/ Bad Azz - Hardtimes on planet earth
Snoop Dogg f/ Tray Deee - OJ Wake Up
Tray Deee f/ Snoop , Kokane - Now is the time
Tha Eastsidaz - Milk and Honey
Tha EAstsidaz f/ BAd azz - Nigga 4 Life
IV Life f/ Tray Deee - Cali Swangin
LBC Crew - Beware of My Crew
Tray Deee - Take Cover
Daz, Tray Deee, Snoop - Downtown Assassins
Tray Deee - I Beez tha Hardest
Tray Deee, So Sentrell - Droppin Bombs
Everysong he is on on Daz RR&GB
Everysong he is on on the 1st 19th Street Comp

and thats just a real quick list, he has a lot more.  Ain't no one fuckin with his verses on these songs.  Yeah, just about every verse is about gangsta shit, but that is what tray deee does.  He mixes up quite a few words tho, and he is very lyrical compared to most gangsta rappers.  And besides lyricism on these songs, tray deee also showcases so much more, he just takes over the songs, he is felt.  So many of your rappers listed  could never see tray deee on a song.

You are a joke with your list.  The only thing I can think of is you don't know what good rap music is.

I'd rather listen to Tray Deee than some of the people on my list, but at the same time, there's only so much you can write about the ghetto before it gets repetative.  Tray Deee is a good rapper, and if I'm in the mood for gangsta shit, I'll listen to a Tray Deee record...just like if I was in a pimpish mood, I'd put on a Too Short record

However. there is a HUGE difference between being a great lyricist and a great rapper, and while Tray Deee and Too Short are good rappers, they are FAR from being great lyricists.  I'm not talking about rapping about Atkins or landscape, I'm talkin about using metaphors and wordplay in addition to rappin.  If you knew anything about rap, you would know there's a big difference between someone rapping and throwing big words in there once in a while and rapping and being creative with wordplay (although there is some overkill on the usage of metaphors...Lloyd Banks is guilty of this sometimes).

Lemme put it like this, a lyricist has the versatility to rap about a bunch of different things, not just LBC gangsta shit.  You can list every single tray Deee song and point to how much of a great rapper he is, but if you look at the subject matter, he's a one dimensional gangsta rapper that can flow and has charisma.  He's talented at being a one dimensional gangsta rapper, however to say he's a great lyricist is absurd.

I don't know about a crazy lyricist... :eh:

he doesn't use big words and shit, but he is real good, rarely heard him slip up

plus the gangster persona is used well in his raps, that's basically all it is

he's got good presence tho, always makes the track that much harder when he's on it...

I wouldn't say lyrical beast tho, many people can do full songs better than he could

^^ He's about as close to the Eastcoast version of Tray Deee as you can come, it's a fair comparison.

They put a white face on our Jesus and Hell has pledged Allegiance
Infect us with diseases, for stressing weeks they feed us
Teaching their history and dirty shit they did to me
and guarantee a PhD will truly set a nigga free
But use computers just to lose us in the meaning
creating more confusion just to take the place of humans
Assume that we just stupid when the truth is in the music
Just review what you will see before the unions' moving units
Adding flava to the state of entertainment, getting famous
Why you hating, waiting, stanking, sading taking us to Haities
Stop watch and listen, listen, pierce in this s'
simply sent for me to spit to get some sense into this verbal scripture
Ain't no way to circumvent the purposes been written
and we'll never know the end and know exactly what we're spending
Spinning in a cycle of survival or the fittest
"Hard Timez on Planet Earth" and this is only the beginning!

If this ain't lyricist...

LOL at Cassidy, Papoose, Domination, Fabolous, Joe Budden & Juelz Santana... Not even close!!!!!!!!!!!!

again, I never said tray deee is the best lyricist, I said he is the best rapper.  How many times in this one thread do I need to point it out.  Just because you are great with the lyrics does not mean that you are the best rapper.  Sure Ras Kass uses tons of metaphors, and plays on words, and shit like that, but for the most part, his albums are boring.  Ras Kass is way more of a lyricist than Pac, but Pac is a way better rapper, same goes for tray deee and many other rappers.

"Put your brownies in your back pocket grab your strap
We banging once again cause the West is back
It's the Long Beach finest, king of Eastsidaz
Hard as a rock and raw as vaginas
I brought Snoop back to these gangsta beats
Off the No Limit tank to the turf with heat
Search the streets, the whole city heard me speak
Got flowers every hour I conserve the D
Slang dope from the throat with these vocal quotes
Only loc roll these spokes blowing notes to folks
I ain't tripping, catch me hitting six tre switches
Or dipping in the coupe with a group full of women
Dogghouse banging, all out spraying
Strategic position of power and no delaying
Crip hop this not the average rap
Get you hyped up have that ass grabbing your strap
Like a G do, we who the bustas fear
Killa Cali, big daddies only come from here
As you lying, mega don living life to roll
With them hot girls with them pretty nails and toes
From Long Beach to Crenshaw, Promona to Compton
Dirty South, Midwest and why it's popping
Tony Touch only what I rap is the truth
So keep the beat bumping while I'm up in the booth" - Tray Deee - I Can Make You Dance

"I usually take off first and ask questions never
Because the west is where the eastside rides forever
Clever as they get, miss me with that shit
Now you can bring that shit and get your lip and wig split
Keep a heat on my hip, twenty one in the clip
'Cause I bang with that Gang and the Dogg Pound clique
A zaniac, a maniac with platinum stats
Stayin' hungry as a wolf so I travel in packs
In my Nikes and Chucks, no shelltop Adidas
Just a t-shirt, khakis, and an automatic heater
Take it to the extreme, representin' to the max
Bust a slug in they tail just from eye contact
Gang affiliated tats across my arms and back
Finger tips, chest, wrist, my neck and knee caps
Peep facts, disease back to seize the juice
'Cause I be's the hardest regardless fools" - Tray Deee - I Beez The Hardest

"Comin from the city where no pity is show
And everybody want to be a G when they grown
Same song in my hood
As it is in yourz
They send real niggaz to the pen and score
Wars caused by yall
A bitch is a punk
Speakin on the ones that's the quickest to dump
Same fools ridin that'z been down for yearz
Cuz that's the shit when they around they peers
Three cheers to the turf for whatever its worth
Cuz imma represent till I'm set in the dirt
My mentality, battle the opponent to dip
And checkin every nigga that ever wanted to step
In my direction
Wit a question fo testin
This action I represent fo inspection
When some jump then I'm dumpin
Pumpin fear in ya ear
When ya hear that I'm bumpin" - Tray Deee - Beware Of My Crew (LBC Crew)

"I bang with the gang that don't need no intro
We run from East Long Beach to West South Central
Credentials, to kick flows and rip shows,
dip 4's and pimp ho's while the indo blow
You know that west coast low mentality
Focused on reality but livin in a hole notha galaxy
We keep it straight hard but guard the spot
Bangas snatch chains in the parkin lot
Don't matta there still be fine ho's to gatha
Pick about the thickest bitch and I gots to hav ha
It's routine the coupe clean let's hit the sho
You know we all fuckin once they glimpse the po
Wit the satin in my hand pack the gat on my lap
Cuz it's hatin when your skaten and your pockets is fat
Don't act for a minute like your ass surprised
Just reconize the real way that gangsta's ride" - Tray Deee - G'd Up

"Big hitters, wig splitters, give niggas the blues
Fools loud mouth we all about spittin them tools
From the coast of the locs were the Gs was born
And we raise up B.G.s to keep it goin
In the alleys, not the valleys, killa Cali the zone
Long Beach bringin heat takin off when its on
Fuck pretty, come gritty when we bring the noise
Big boys play wit keeps when we bring the toys
Wet T-shirts, we search to put in work, cuz
Come back for ya homies as you gettin ya dirt dug
Congregatin, operatin Gs and hustlas
You other muthafuckas can't concieve our structures
The DPGC, the M-O-B-B, stricly east side and we ride on G.P.
Bandanas, hoodies, timbos and chucks
Stay mashin on bustas not givin a fuck" - Tray Deee - Connected

"Gangsta gangsta, tell me how you do it
It seems so simple like there was nothin' to it
Rippin', sippin', dippin' on the fluid
West Coast nigga, yeah we be the truest" - Tray Deee - Represent Dat G.C (Kurupt)

Tray Deee never comes with a wack verse, that's why he's a dope rapper and one of the best rappers in the whole DPG...
