Stillmatic will lyrically SLAUGHTER 2001.........production-wise 2001 might be better [and thats a BIG might], but lyrically and conceptually, 2001 is NOWHERE near Stillmatics level.

Ill take Stillmatic anyday of the week........and no, im not a east coast dickrider, im born and raised in Cali. But only west coast dickriders will tell you 2001 is a better album than Stillmatic.

no link between lyric n classic , i mean they gave the mark fo general observation , not because he's as some dope ass lyrics, they look if the shit is deep, n how he deliver....then they look with the beat if everything is aight the go on n on , then when they finish , if the whole thing can stand by it self they gave him a classic mark. so everything is important in this case, except fo jay-z , they acclaim this nigga before he even drop any shit

I hate the Source as much as the next man, cuz they have fucked up on alot of albums [Cuban Linx, Chronic, Doggystyle, Ready To Die, E.1999 Eternal, Infamous, ATLiens, Reasonable Doubt, 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, Me Against The World, etc etc], but they were on point this time. For real, I dont see how anyone could have any gripes about Stillmatic [other than Braveheart Party], that album couldnt of been better.

i have the cd. its good. regardless of what anyone says, its nothing amazing. it blows my fucking mind that they give this cd 5 mics and gave 2001 4.5. the source is the most biased bullshit magazine i have ever read. they suck so much east coast dick. do they not know that when they do shit like this it ruins all of their journalistic credability? i'm surprised that they actually decided not to give benzino's album a rating. i guaranfuckintee you if they would have he would have gotten 5 mics. and benzino is a talentless piece of shit. fuck people i hope none of you rely on the source's rating system. the shitty thing is i know a lot of people out there do. fuck the source. once again i'm not hatin on nas, the cd is good, but if it gets 5 2001 should get about 12. lyrically , yeah stillmatic is faaaaaaaar superior
but Production wise 2001 is HELLA better than every album out there right now with only stankonia being even close....stillmatic's production isn't all that great but it makes it listenable all the beats (even the premier beat ) are simple melodies....i dunno you'd have to know production to know what i'm talking about but whoever said Stillmatic and 2001 are about the same production wise are making themselves look silly. That's like saying mack 10's the same lyrically as Xzibit or Crooked I.

2001 did or does not deserve 5 mics...it never did...4.5 was fair because the album was stellar...but the original chronic definately deserved 5 mics...as for nas, more props to the king, peace.
