Congrats to Nas. Too bad the rumor that he went gold in his first week was not true. An amazing album. Stillmatic and The Blueprint are definitely the two best albums to drop this year.

P.S. 2001 is better than Stillmatic.

Yes... Stillmatic deserved 5 mics, Dre deserved 5 mics, (loses a half a mic for being West Coast) and Eminem deserved 5 mics, (loses a full mic for being a white boy).... But Jay-Z should have NEEEVVVERR gotten 5 mics.

well let's say nas pay someone to get the classic mark... do u still gonna talk that present and all that. if it's the case the gonna do another review n he may gets the 4.5, but in my eyes a 4.5 at the source is already a classic cause they gonna change it , in the 2 years. except fo jay-z , all his album i mean all  ( even roc la familia) got 4.5 thats bullshit

and ohh how can u say stilmatic had a better concept than 2001. ok this might be your opinion but IMO 2001 had the waaaay better concept. 22 tracks including skits with a dope ass concept and a top notch production. i aint dissin stillmatic, but like jake said, stillmacit had simple melodies thats all. while the production on 2001 was on a hole different level. but i think thats because dre cares more about production and nas about the lyrics.

and the last thing,  why ppl talked bout the past and present. i wonder if ppl are still gonna like stillmatic the same in 2 years i doubt it, well I  know I wont but 2001 is still in my cd player.

Maybe Nas deserve it, but.. dont compare it with West Coast albums. Compare it with Jay-Z, or Mobb Deep or any other East Coast album. Cause there's no comparsion between a NYC album (of the so called new King Of NYC) with a West Coast Album, for a NYC magazine. U get it now?

The source is a east coast magazine.  So a west coast album will never get the proper due.  Just think they gave Xzibit 3.5 mics.  The gave the last meal 4 mics.  The reason stillmatic got 5 mics is because it is better than the blueprint and the blueprint got 5 mics so they had to give stillmatic 5 mics.  But hey stillmatic is tight as fuck though, but those world songs kinda suck so it is not perfect. but hey all this shit is just a thought of someone and what they think.
