E.1999 Eternal not a classic album???
« on: December 23, 2001, 12:51:09 PM »
Me and Minoritism have been having a debate in the rap review forum about this album. He says its NOT a classic, while I say it is. He also went on to say this album had no impact whatsoever [LMAO], and its only an above average album.........Now, the point of this post is, I wanna get a consensus from this board. Is this album a classic?? I think so......so, rock the vote yall..........just say classic or not classic.........

CLASSIC

i agree it did have a huge impact on the music industry and introduced a lot of people to a new style of hip hop, but i guess i just don't like it as much as a lot of other peeps. even though is wuz a bangin album in my opinion its NOT A CLASSIC.

True that........This album most definatly had impact, and when an album has impact, 9/10 times, its gonna be deemed a classic. I dont think Minoritism read my review, cuz I pretty much broke it down.....And I still have memories of this album from 95'-96', and how big this album was.......EVERYONE was bitin that shit left and right. You couldnt go ANYWHERE w/o hearing someone bump that album......And it STILL sells like 10,000 copies a week 6 years later. This is the album by which ALL midwest hip hop albums are measured by.

I would explain the impact of this album to those who dont about it, but I wont bother.....just go peep my review in the album review forum. Its all there..........

You kinda contradicted yourself there.....you admitted it had impact and was a bangin album, but then you said its not a classic.....???

Ill tell u wat tha problem is.......

"Some" people are just too used 2 "Normal" emcees and "Normal" rap styles.........nah'mean?
So when they hear some different ass shit like Bone's shit, they aint gonna like it b/c of tha style.........But Not liking should not get in tha way of u suggesting this aint a classic..........I mean I myself dont really like some of tha ol school shit like Run Dmc too much, although I like some songs, I dont really care bout dat shit too much, But I aint gonna Exclude dat those shit waz classic, b/c when I study bout wat those albums did and what they stand 4 then Im Automatically gonna label them classic.........

U see wha'm tryin 2 get across here?

True, you cant let personal opinion get in the way......I think Run Dmc's music is pretty boring myself, but they most definatly put out some classic shit. I dont like DMX very much, but his first album  was a near classic...

these young cats on here will never understand the impact that an album like E.1999 Eternal had......

Its an "arguable" classic, but not a DEFINATE classic like E.1999 Eternal.

Classic...Art Of War is also very close to classic it's a personal favorite of mine...If it was just 1 CD instead of 2 we would be talking about 2 straight classic albums an a classic EP...

I Disagree. E. 1999 isn't a classic. it may have contained a few classic joints (1st Of The Month) but the album overall... is pretty bland to me... i can't listen to a whole bone album at once though, not since Creepin On A Come Up
