Illmatic... i can play it end to end... i still skip tracks on Ready To Die, but they're both classics, just that Illmatic is better.

My vote goes to Ready To Die...... It just turned my mind 180 dgrs back then, and some tracks like Machine Gun Funk and Me & My Bitch still make my heart pump harder.

Damn.. this is sooo hard. I've been goin back and forth in my head for the the best part of this afternoon...

I think Ready To Die has more moments where you just think "god this is 'the shit'" (and like bigjake says has a few flaws as well.). nas is more consistent overall if not so brilliant in places ... sooo torn between the two.. but Ready To Die takes it - just!

Illmatic.. Illmatic is mentally stimulating... Ready to Die is real aggresive, and on point... but it doesn't elevate my mentals like Illmatic.

I cant pick between these two.........it all depends on my mood. One minute I might like RTD better, the next I might like Illmatic better.

I like Illmatic better. Nas came better lyrically but ready to die's production was better.
