what do y'all think of it...I think people are still gonna used it for a couple of years! cant get enough of it

I think Mtume has way better songs than that and that the sample has been overused like Isaac Hayes - The Look Of Love.

Some samples have more shelf life than others - look at "More Bounce To The Ounce" for example; there's a zillion ways you can take that bassline and speed it up, slow it down, reverb different parts of it, or take parts of it (i.e. the hand-clap rhythm) and put it in something else.  That's why a zillion West Coast rappers were able to make catchy songs with it.

"Juicy Fruit" isn't one of those samples.  Simple pop tunes tend to have simple melodies that aren't as easy to recycle as more complex productions and still sound fresh, and I think "Juicy Fruit" is one of them.  Biggie did it best with "Juicy", and that's as good as it ever got.
