Foxy Brown Sentenced To Three Years Probation
« on: October 26, 2006, 01:15:51 AM »
Just one day after she was threatened for failing to appear in court, rapper Foxy Brown was sentenced to three years probation for a 2004 fight with Manhattan nail salon workers. As previously reported, Brown was scheduled to appear in court yesterday for sentencing, but skipped the appearance. Her attorney insisted that she was at home recovering from a dental procedure, but Judge Melissa C. Jackson wasn't buying it and issued a warning that if the rapper did not appear today, a warrant would be immediately issued for her arrest. Though Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, attempted to get a two-week extension and offer new arguments, Judge Jackson rejected the plea, instead choosing to sentence Brown to the probation period. "The purpose of a reargument is not to let the parties go over issues that have already been decided," Jackson said. She also warned that if Brown did not adhere to the conditions of her probation, she could possibly face up to a year behind bars. Brown is also required to seek anger management counseling.
