Andre lost his desire for hip-hop after the Stankonia album; and his strength was as an emcee and not as a played out Lenny Kravitz.  I think the success of their "Love Below" album was a fluke.  They are done.  But still, 4 great albums is better than any other hip-hop group has been able to achieve.  Like they said on the track Aquemini; "Nothing last forever".

Well Speakerboxxx was one, wasn't it?

But yeah, Outkast - as a duo - seems to be pretty much done. Andre clearly wants to do something else than what he's best at. I got faith in Big Boi still though, although I gotta say that I didn't hear their last album (besides Morris Brown) so I don't know what he did on there.

With the proper production (never a problem with Big Boi, anyway) Big Boi could cook up some heat.

I did not listen to that Love Below, Speakerbox, or Idlewild albums becuz that shit imo can't compare wit what they used to do. Now its all pop.

andre is an artist....artists can't be confined to one sound or style, if they do they become stale and a self parody. outkast may be done. but if we've learned anything from goodie mob and c-lo it's that the true artist of the group is never done.

^^True.  I'm sure Dre and Big Boi will be friends till the day they die, but it's pretty apparent they have different interests and tastes.  Hell I have people that I was tight as hell with 10 years ago that I can't really even associate with much these days.  Not cuz I hate them but cuz we're just completely different then we used to be.  I think thats what's going on with them...

As for that soundtrack it's the only Outkast album that I didn't buy.  That Mighty O joint was predictable, and I just wasn't really feeling the speakeasy 30's feel on the songs I was hearing.  And, in my opinion it was just a soundtrack, not a true Outkast album.  I think they still owe at least one album to fulfill their contract, so maybe they'll come together and actually do a joint album.  Not 2 solo discs, not watered down soundtracks, just a true Outkast album. 

Either way, they have 3 classic discs that I can bump from front to back and love every bit of it, and they've got some truly incredible joints on Stankonia and Love Below / Speakerboxx.  So of course I'd love one more true Outkast album, but if not I'm good.
