London - The death of three young prostitutes and the disappearance of a fourth Monday evoked memories in Britain of the murder spree of serial killer Peter Sutcliffe - the Yorkshire Ripper - more than 30 years ago.

Police in Ipswich, in the south-eastern county of Suffolk, Monday warned prostitutes to 'stay off the streets' as fears grew that a serial killer could be responsible.

Three women, aged between 19 and 25, have been found dead in woodlands near Ipswich over the last eight days.
