Your thoughts on Dre not bringing us G-Funk no mo
« on: November 04, 2001, 01:24:29 AM »
I think its fucked up!!! Its a own music genre, smooth as fuck too.
And its fucked up that Dre releases "The Wash" cuz i got really frustrated just because its the best song Dre have put out in years!!! And we cant get anymore of this!!! R U feeling me!?
Personally i think it beats Nuthin but a G-Thang, but i know that most of u wont agree.
It sounds like Dre did put his heart & soul into this song - Its beautiful...
Just think, a whole album that sounds like this...BUT THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!
Do u understand why im frustrated???

Peace

If Dre Was Concerned With That, He Would Push G Funk, He'd Make More Money.

Look At "Bad Intentions" That's Gonna Be His New Style Of Producing, Or "Put It On Me".  I Don't See Anything Wrong With That.

I personally would love to hear more G-Funk.  But I agree with dre's decsion not to make anymore.  "Been There, Done That"

If you want G-Funk, Listen to the Chronic or Doggystyle.

I'm more interested in the new style he will be using on Detox.

I think this decision is horrible. I have been one of Dre's biggest critics on this board for awhile. In my opinion, his beats the past few years have been overrated and I just haven't really been feeling him. Then I got real excited after hearing the songs "Bad Intentions", "On the Boulevard", and "The Wash", because it sounded like he was going back to his old g-funk sound. In my opinion, these are the best Dre songs in YEARS. I love all three songs. I just hope he stays with this updated g-funk sound, because it'
s dope. The other stuff he has done lately, like that " Break Ya Neck" song with Busta Rhymes, is wack as hell.

???

I don't know about u guys but I think that Dre,Daz and Warren G haven't sounded the same(beat wise) since their days at death row. Well Warren has sort kept the same style but Daz and Dre have changed it.
Maybe Dre did get alot of help on "The Chronic" and "Doggystyle" cause in my opinion his new style in nothing like that classic shit but his new style is more rough and rugged and I LIKE IT. A change had to come

Dre has transformed 3 times; from his Ruthless sound, to his G-Funk Death Row melodies, up intil now with "Dr. Dre 2001" where he brought in the futuristic funk.  "Put It On Me" is still his style of "2001."  When "Detox" rolls around is when he'll evolve one last time.

Dre's has left G-Funk behind...he can't slow down and let peeps catch up to him and copy his style.  Dre's has gotta stay fresh.

it's called artistical evolution, if you just stick to what's succesfull that doesn't make you a good artist that just makes you a person with limited talents.....if dre would've kept doing beats that were g-funk he woulda just sounded like a self parody, he'd become predictable, and you just wouldn't be anticipating any of his music anymore.....that's why one hit wonder are what they are, they keep on trying to duplicate what was successful before but that formula gets exasted, and you need something new

it's like eating chacolate cake all the time, FUCK YEAH it tastes good but if you eat nothing but chacolate cake your going to throw up and never want to eat it again....you need variety to survive
