Second Life
« on: January 13, 2007, 06:23:08 AM »
Anyone ever heard of this game? It's like a virtual reality that permits practically anything. I personally think this thing is scary and has the potential to become an obsession of the next generation of teenagers, which would be worse than any drug epidemic

I've heard of it and agree with you, don't people spend real money and whatever?

Fucking wierd, it's quite saddening that people are so insecure and instead of living a real life they feel the need to hide and live in what basically is a game.

Maybe I'm overreacting though.

i actually started playing it a while ago, but without money, just to check. its pretty cool overall and could develop into a nice game.you can do anything there with money, buy clothes, skins, appearences, dicks, pussies what ever lol...
its possible to buy land and build your own clubs, to hire some strippers and play music, organize virtual concerts and sell your own cds for example. but i think you gotta spend lots of time there to be able to do all these things. i havent played it for a while now, most likely thigns changed anyhow.

Capitalism is hitting us hard enough; there's plenty of people who just can't cope with real life. That's just how things are.

Second Life is a truly genius invention if you look at it through the eyes of those failures of life. They can build up something digitally and feel good about it, even though they put all their faith in a bunch of 0's and 1's. It does give them something to believe in.

It's painful though, to see how fragile people have become. I just don't think this would be something infectious like a drug wave. Thing is, what if the game goes down permanently? What happens to those people? Their beliefs will be killed... That could lead to a wave of suicides. Whether that's a bad thing is up to you; it all depends on the values you credit life for.

where can I get this?  :D
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin
