Jay-Z Then and Now...
« on: January 14, 2007, 11:01:18 AM »
I just wanted to make sure everybody knows how wack Jiggaman has gotten, so I threw this together:

Original Flavor featuring Jay-Z "Can I Get Open".  Jay has the third verse and absolutely DESTROYS it.  Circa 93-94

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/yLC7ZcSTzag" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/yLC7ZcSTzag</a>

Jay-Z "Show Me What You Got".  God this shit is corny.  Nice fuckin hook jiggaman.  Circa 06-07

That Original Flavor track is dope. I have 2 Jaz albums with Jay-Z on them circa 89-91 which are great. His flow used to be just incredible. Now i can barely listen to him.

as for Jay-Z, I have listened to his album a fair amount it's just blah, absolutely saying nothing

I'd rather listen to Kurupt

I'm still probs one of the only ones on this forum who thinks this way...

Anyway, good hook up with the old school vid Jrome :D Jay DID kill it, it's the shit when i hear nigga'z spit fast and you can understand them, i was sleeping on him those years lol.

Show me what you got, i still like it, the hook appeals to me big time, the vid for me just added to it alot better, he looked better in the 90's though.

Everyones best era was probably the 90's, doggystyle still tops blue carpet treatment, peeps banging the chronic, easy e, NWA, etc. Artists/rappers were at their high point around then except for one or two who finish it now like lil' wayne.

Hova's still ite to me, he just lost a bit of the flame but he got it still just about.
Boy Better Know I roll deep with the Nastiest crew, i'm P-Money but i'm O.Gz too"

To each his own man.  But yeah that was Jays thing back then - to spit as fast as possible but still articulate to where you could hear everything that he said clearly.  He was dope back then.

Lil Wayne and B.G. first showed up in a group in 1993 on the album B.G.'z- True Story. Wayne was named Baby D and B.G. was Lil Doogie. B.G. had more solo songs on the album and took over the name. When the cd was rereleased in 1999 it was labeled as a B.G. cd and the 'z was photoshopped out.
