Snoop To Sign With MCA...
« on: October 24, 2001, 01:20:10 PM »

Snoop Dogg is signing to MCA, sources tell Billboard Bulletin. The rapper had been with No Limit/Priority; No Limit recently aligned with MCA sister label Universal Records, following Priority's merger with Capitol. Sources at Priority say Snoop owes the label one studio album. His last three sets -- 1998's "Da Game Is to Be Sold Not to Be Told," 1999's "Top Dogg," and 2000's "Tha Last Meal" -- remain the property of Priority.

Sources say Snoop may bring his TVT-distributed label, Doggystyle Records, to MCA as well. Representatives for MCA and TVT declined to comment.

Snoop's soundtrack for the horror film "Bones," in which he also stars, was released earlier this month by Priority; the film hits U.S. theaters this week. As previously reported, Snoop will team with longtime collaborator Dr. Dre for the soundtrack and film "The Wash." The album is due Nov. 6 on Aftermath/Doggystyle/Interscope, while the film will open Nov. 14 in U.S. theaters.

Snoop is also among the performers for the Voodoo Music Festival, set for Saturday (Oct. 27) in New Orleans.
