weight lifting
« on: June 12, 2002, 06:35:39 PM »
i used to be big into weight lifting.  I was lifting every other day untill i got a job which was a year an half ago.  But still i would get a good work out in 2 - 3 times a week.  But for tha past couple of months i have not been motivated at all.  I lift like 3 times a week,  but after 20 minutes i have no motivation an i stop.  Maybe when school ends i wont be as tired so i'll work out more.  Does any1 know of anything that can get me motivated again.  Maybe its my routine,  does any1 know of any web sites that show different techniques an exercises an shit

I dont work out much.. I'm tryna start though. Need to get in shape for tha ladies... that's my motivation.

I bought this bench press table last week.. I still need tha bar and tha weights though. I'm gettin them with my next paycheck, that's this friday.

I dont really do shit... I just go to work (no School), get online, listen to music, get high, kick it at tha pad... I'ma change it around a little. I'ma try and put most of my time into lifting.. fuck gettin online, I'll limit myself. I'll just listen to music while I work out. I wont blaze as much.. maybe after I'm done working out.. or before I go to sleep. I think it's all about Self Determination... You gotta push yourself.. I'ma start doing that for once.

I'm kinda big... got some fat on me.. I'm tryna turn that into muscle.. cuz tha way I see it.. what's tha point in being big.. if you can't knock somebody tha fuck out.

BTW... since you were into lifting weights before. How many sets would you do? How much would you lift? And how much time did it take for you to actually be able to notice any difference?

I got all the equipment in my garage.

It just sits there and collects dust though.

That's if your into heavy heavy wieght lifting or if you take steroids. Like those dudes you see on the magizines where they are all oiled up and thier flexin' more veins than muscles while wearin' lil ass speedos

*gags*

If you do it just to get in shape then you won't shrink or nuthin.

I think it only stuns your growth if your young. I don't think it actually makes people shorter... It's just that if you lift while you're growing.. while you're developing as a teen.. you won't grow as much as you're supposed to. I'm already gonna be 18 so I doubt there's much growing for me.

and Tom, I think something that motivates people to work out is other people. Like you're more likely to get a good work out if you're working out with somebody else, like a homie, cuz you're both pushin each other.

I do 200 sit ups a nite and about 25-40 press ups

I once did 500 sit ups and about 62 press ups thats my record so far.  I have been doing it for a while but still I think it has done fuck all.

I do weightlifting excercises every day... I usually keep lifting for an hour or so until I'm totally exhausted. I notice results from working out... which keeps my motivation at a high level.

u could also try adjusting your current routine, switching some body parts with others or change number of reps, speed, sets, range of motion and exercises

I just redid my routine and im currently doing a 4-day split program and it has helped me to get the motivation back. i do this every 3 months or so.

alot of people dont do their legs, dunno if u do but if not... DO LEGS! if u start to do squats and havent done them before u will notice a major muscular developement not only on the legs but also upper body. Because the pressure of squats is so big ur body releases natural testosterone in defence, this will fuel more strenght in your entire body.

Also try various supplements, but stick to whey protein and creatine, especially creatine will give u hella motivation.

http://www.exrx.net/Exercise.html this is the ultimate site for exercises and routines, check it out

20 lbs during the summer, thats pretty damn good. since i started (roughly 3 years ago) i've went from 143 lbs to 205 lbs. but i also gain mad at summers.

How many of yall use bulking and cutting phases? i believe its unhealthy for unpros to do that, either u eat too much during bulking making u obese or u starve urself during the cutting.
