« on: February 08, 2007, 05:22:15 AM »
Singer, Actor and Dreamgirls star Keith Robinson announced today that he will release a single called “The One” on iTunes on February 13, 2007. The track will be the first single from his upcoming album. “The One” allows Robinson to demonstrate his sexy and soulful delivery style. He describes the bass-heavy song as “Southern bounce with hip-hop influence.” Lyrically, it is “an ode to finally finding your utopian princess and having your fantasy realized.”

Robinson can currently be seen in a starring role in the big screen smash-hit Dreamgirls. He plays the role of C.C. White, the brother of Jennifer Hudson’s character Effie, opposite Jamie Foxx, Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover, and Anika Noni Rose in Bill Condon's film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. The film has received 8 Oscar Nominations, SAG-nomination for best ensemble and won the Golden Globe for Best Picture. Keith can also be found on three songs on the film’s soundtrack including the Oscar-nominated song “Patience,” alongside Eddie Murphy and Anika Noni Rose as well as his solo in the song “Family.”

Kentucky-born Robinson was first introduced to the public in 2004's hit film Fat Albert. He then found success with regular roles on the NBC drama American Dreams and FX's critically acclaimed Iraq war series, Over There. He won a 2006 Camie (Character And Morality In Entertainment) Award for his performance in The Reading Room, an original Hallmark movie starring James Earl Jones. He will next be featured on the small screen in the CBS miniseries Comanche Moon, based on Larry McMurtry's novel, the prequel to Lonesome Dove, in which he plays the young Danny Glover character “Deets.” He is currently shooting the ensemble film This Christmas alongside Delroy Lindo, Regina King, Nia Long and Mekhi Phifer. When Robinson is not on set, he's in the recording studio working on his album and music for major motion pictures and television.
