I don't think there is any middle ground.
yes there is, as i like some tracks from the album  ;)

I think you might be the exception to the rule though, most probably have it at the bottom of their list or near the top. I know several Snoop fans here in NYC who like it better than Doggystyle believe it or not, and then others who think its the worst album ever by a bigtime artist

based on this topic, or did you do some wider research

that's why you have to be careful with conclusions, as you're basing it your perception of how "people" generally rate it  ;)

just from people I know here in NY,friends, coworkers, people I grew up with, granted this isnt LA but Snoop has always been pretty much accepted here for a west coast artist, and NY people in general know their hiphop

i see, but like i said, it's still based on your perception of how those people rate it  ;)

that's why you need to be careful when formulating conclusions  ;)

I know its just a small sample but thats how surveys, polls, ratings are usually done so I just went with it. I'm sure there are people lilke you who like certain parts of the album and have some sort of middle ground with it but the vibe I have gotten over the years has made me believe that this is a love it or hate it album

1 - Doggystyle [10/10 - CLASSIC]
What more can we say about that disc? Snoop's debut, he had hunger and brought somethin new in the game.

2 - Tha Last Meal [8.75/10 - VERY GOOD]
Snoop on his own, back on the lab with Dre and accompagned by an impressive list of features including
Kokane, Lil Half Dead, Rage, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Soopafly, Nate Dogg, Tha Eastsidaz, Butch Cassidy, Bad Azz...

3 - Tha DoggFather [8/10 - VERY GOOD]
Second solo from the dogg and despite the absence of Dre, Snoop delivers a great record and heterogenous

4 - No Limit Top Dogg [8/10 - VERY GOOD]
After an album considered as a disaster Snoop is back to the califonian vibes with more Meech Wells beats
     and less No Limit influences

5 - The Blue Carpet Treatment [7.25/10 - GOOD]
Snoop seemed lost with his previous releases but not on this one! Snoop called the good persons to make
     a pretty good record.

6 - Da Game Is To Be Sold Not To Be Told [7/10 - GOOD]
I wasnt a fan at the beginning but with decline I think there's some nice material despite the fact that Snoop flow
dont match at all with southern beats proposed by No Limit

7 - Paid The Cost To Be Da Bo$$ [6.5/10 - OK]
I was lovin that record when it came out but years after I think this album is flat and unpersonal

8 - Ego Trippin [RAP: 5/10 - AVERAGE // MAINSTREAM: 7/10 - GOOD] [6/10 - OK]
Well as a rap disc this one aint that great but as a mainstream level this is somethin new and interesting

9 - R&G: The Masterpiece [5.5/10 - OK]
All the singles for that album were coo to me but overall this album is def the worth Snoop ever did

DOGGYSTYLE - 10/10
DOGGFATHER - 8.5/10
TOP DOGG - 7/10
LAST MEAL - 7/10
DA GAME IS TO BE SOLD... - 6.5/10

Why Does The "Da Game ..." Album Get So Much Hate?I Liked Couple Songs There, I Even Bought Two Times BEcause I Lost The First.

1. Doggystyle - His best album. Not to mention CLASSIC!
2. Tha Doggfather - Was not as strong as Doggystyle, but was great nonetheless.
3. Tha Blue Carpet Treatment - Not on the same level, but still good.
4. R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece - Aside from cheesy singing some songs were pretty good.
5. Tha Last Meal - Pretty good.
6. No Limit Top Dogg - Decent. Down 4 My Niggaz & Bitch Please are the highlights of this album IMO.
7. Da Game is to Be Sold - It was OK.
8. Ego Trippin' - Too too too RnB and WTF. Bad.
9. Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$ - This sucked! However there are a few songs that are decent.
