Universal Music Publishing Group And Eminem Sign Deal
« on: March 07, 2007, 08:24:13 AM »
Universal Music Publishing Group has formed a joint venture with Eminem's publishing company, Shady Music Publishing. The Academy Award and nine-time Grammy Award winner and his manager, Paul Rosenberg, will be signing other writers and artists under the deal.

The joint venture is part of an agreement that also gives UMPG the exclusive, worldwide administration rights to new songs to be written by Eminem as well as tracks on his multi-platinum greatest hits collection, "Curtain Call," the latest Shady Records offering "Eminem Presents: The Re-Up," songs co-written on 50 Cent's "The Massacre" and the hit "Smack That," produced by Akon featuring Eminem.

"His success as a writer and producer for both his own records as well as other artists continues to grow," says David Renzer, chairman/CEO of UMPG.

Eminem has released seven multi-platinum albums, six of which hit No. 1 on Billboard charts. He has sold more than 70 million albums.
