Eminem needs to stop producing...
« on: March 21, 2007, 03:36:19 PM »
Seriously. I'm sick of people on em's jock all the time on the producing tip! Dude uses the same exact snares/claps/guitar/etc in almost every single song he's produced since 2002. shit is repetitive and annoying as fuck. whoever gave eminem the idea that he was actually a good producer was horribly wrong. He hasn't had creativity EVER in production and none in rapping since the eminem show. It's time for him to retire.

I liked some of the stuff he did on 8 mile.  He did some decent stuff on Eminem Show.  But for the most part, his beats are very boring and generic.  I respect him for doing his own beats, but they're usually just not very good.  Maybe you could look at it like "hey, you better come tight, cuz these beats aren't saving you".

Like that "Carry The Cross" joint he did for Nas was just so boring.

he shouldn´t have started to begin with. it was cool when the other cats was doin all the work for(the Bass brothers,DJ Head) but when they left his beats became wack.

Yeah, dont feel him.

Poor drums, no bass.  The only beat I like of Em (if it is actually his) is Til I collapse.  An thats mostly cos its a fire song.

Every beat from him I heard sounded the same. That same knock and head bop. :D

'Lose Yourself' is real nice though. The beat and lyrics give me chills. LOL.

Ems production in 2006 > Dr.Dre's in 2006. All the beats he gave to G-Unit were hot.

Eminem f/ Nate Dogg - "'Till I Collapse"
50 Cent f/ Eminem - "Patiently Waiting"
Obie Trice f/ 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks of G-Unit & Eminem - "We All Die One Day"
Hands Up feat. 50 Cent
Drama Setter - Eminem, Tony Yayo
Shake That (feat. Nate Dogg)
You Dont Know (Eminem, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks & Ca$his)

Those just some of the bigger name tracks from G-Unit. But Em is easily one of the better main stream producers. Though he's proven he can't produce an entire album start to finish. If you need one beat, get it from Em.

some of those beats you named are hot but before this discussion furthers:

dre's work on HHID, KC,TBCT>>>>>patiently waiting, till i collapse(hot song, just above average beat)

imo

anyway, he had some hot shit but he is just dre without funk. same instrumentation, same musicians...just no funk, which even in a post g funk era is still alot of dre's style ( 30 something, boss' life)

anyway, yeah he needs to stick to rappin'

Em's production on the Re-Up was sick, I don't think alot of people on this board actually peeped this cd.

I gotta admit his production was weak for awhile, but as he's gotten more experience, he's moved away from just one sound and tries different things.

On the other hand, again speaking on the Re-Up, he can also produce a whole album, and give it a consistent vibe like and old Dre/Gangstarr/UGK produced albums etc.

Wow, I thought DJ Muggs did that track.
