It's classic in a critical acclaim sense but I think it's overrated personally. It'd definitely better than anything Jay-Z has released though.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

classic in the sense it chanced production in hip-hop, and that it was the best album between Makaveli and Stillmatic. Classic, no question, anyone who dissagrees should listen to the album.

i think we can call this a hiphop classic. I mean the sound of current hiphop is still being unfluenced from that record

Good album, OVERRATED AS HELL. I don't know about that Jay-Z comment though.

It's definitely overrated - that album has a LOT of filler on it, from the skits to bullshit tracks like 'Ackrite' and 'Murder Ink'.

Here's my take - Jay-Z has made albums with less filler, but he's never made an album where the best tracks were as great as the classic cuts on Dre's.

I was personally let down by this album, I liked Streetz Iz A Mutha better which came out at the same time but Jayz also has alot of filler in his so called classic albums so I think it compares somewhat
