Damn, here we go - First single from the new KRS-One album that is ENTIRELY PRODUCED BY MARLEY MARL!!!!!!!! 2 of the all-time great legends coming together to show all these motherfuckers what real hip hop is about.

The song is called "Kill A Rapper".  It's basically KRS shedding light on all the unsolved murders of prominent Hip Hop artists and wondering why they are never solved.  And after you hear it, you'll be like, "Goddamn, there's a lot of unsolved murders".  It's so common that we're kind of conditioned to it.

Marley Marl provides a great backdrop to KRS's lyrics.  The music almost sounds like it was taken straight from a murder mystery.  Very dark and ominous.  Very good shit here.

Overall, I REALLY like this joint.  It's a lead single done the way KRS & Marley want - not what some exec is telling them is hot.  They're not trying to copy what everybody else is doing, they're making music that they think is tight and important.  They're actually putting forth some content for you to think about long after the song is over.

So anyway, here it is.  I could only find it streaming so if anybody can find an MP3 please post it.  I can't remember the exact date this album drops, but I'l find it and post it.  I will def be buying this.

I'm glad to hear an educating & enlightening Kris Parker instead of an egoistical, "I am Hip-Hop" Kris Parker

PROPZ to both of ya'll for the info and track!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, this is dark as hell but it is sayin' something. I think 'Hip Hop Lives' is better lyrically and beat wise. But to have an album have two singles like this come out at this point is crazy. Here's Nas whose carryin' hip hop, come out wit tracks sayin' Hip Hop Is Dead and than have a pioneer who will never quit no matter how 'washed up' he is, who says Hip Hop Lives. I think it's crazy.

Sounds good. I can appreciate a guy like KRS, who simply wants to take hip-hop back to the way it was. I was never a fan of his personal style, but I got mad respect for him.

Yeah! Good stuff, even tho I didn't like the sound of the chorus - it's a damn good oneliner. You wanna get away with murder? Kill a rapper.

Looking forward to hearing the album - props!
