The best thing that could happen is that dre really delayed the whole project... I mean how can he claim for 5 years it's coming... and still nothing more than a youtube clip or a interview on a radio...

Last year I really thought it would happen... this year I don't care as much, if it comes it's good if not fuck a detox

regardless, do u think the quality could ever possibly live up to the hype that this album has generated over the years?

sure, everyone will be buying it, but will it be worth the wait??
Always talkin bout the cash he got, the little pesos for shows
And God knows his materialistic raps and wack flows
are like Stay Free pads, fake V.I.P. rappers get garbage disposed
Unrecouped for his flamboyance and reflection
He's leasin rentin and frontin

I still don't believe it will ever be released.

Dre doesn't need the money and he doesn't really need the respect. Think about it: He has already impacted hip-hop more than probably any other performer and has produced two hugely influential 'solo' albums. He is already one of the figureheads of hip-hop.

I'd guess it's almost impossible that Detox could take that further. Not that Dre can't create a string of bangers, but to put together a CD that supasses what he's already acheived artistically would be difficult being that the label will almost certainly want a mainstream release for something with so much sales potential.

Why do you think it's taken so long? Dre knows, I expect, that whatever he does won't be good enough. The chance of Detox being less than expected is much greater than the chance of it meeting the hype that hip-hop - fairly or unfairly - has put on it.
