When Dre left Death Row, he wanted to stop making hip hop because of the violence and focus on R&B, so half or more are just singing. But the tracks that aren't R&B are pretty good. Especially the King Tee song.

This isn't really a Dre album in the sense that he only appeared on two tracks and out of the 16 songs on the album he only produced 5 of them.  The rest of the songs are produced by the Aftermath in-house producers that he was fuckin with at the time.  It's a pretty good album, but if you're expecting something on the level of the Chronic you'll probably be dissapointed.

I thought it was decent at best, but not bad. Maybe by Dre standards.

co-sign.. this wasnt Dre's second album it was COMPILATION album to showcase the Aftermath artists..

it was "DR. DRE PRESENTS" not "DR. DRE" similar to "SNOOP DOGG PRESENTS DOGG HOUSE ALL STARS"

all seven tracks dre produces on this record are DOPE

the track dre raps on that he didn't produce is TIGHTa

and the King T song is COOL as fuck.

the rest is LISTENABLE but not at all exceptional RandB.

the LAW-SHARIEF track is CORNY.

that is all

I think it is solid. You can tell in the early stages of the label, Dre had alot of good talent, but not that one superstar like a Snoop Dogg or Eminem that really separated themselves from others on the label.
