He used to spit his sickest verses on Guest appearances... Renegade, Hellbound, Don't approach me, Dead wrong, Nuttin to do, Patiently waitin, What the beat, If I get locked up etc etc, all bananas...

As for a whole song, it's still hard to limit it to one track... cant do it son.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

ehh...really?

not at all, hes a decent lyricist but what has he got beyond his mom, his daughter, and the industry to rap about?  He's no longer relevant.

if topic matter is the grounds on which the GOAT will be judged than Bob Dylan squashes all rappers ever period point blank. Rappers don't have shit on any other kind of writer when it comes to topics.

eminem is skill incarnate, especially when he wants to be.

now youre blending genres and thats unfair.

I  personally feel skill and GOAT status should be measured on lyrical ability, relevance, respect, subject matter, longevity together.

that said, the cats I feel can contend are

D.O.C.
Eminem
Ice Cube
2pac
Biggie(at least as topically stagnant as eminem, repetitive as eminem, commercial as eminem,...in other words, there's almost no flaw than eminem has that biggie doesn't or that biggie doesn't have an equivalent flaw to. he doesn't get 1/17th as deep as Pac but he RIPS shit, don't you think Big deserves a stab at the title at least?)
Nas
Rakim

i like BIG more than Pac but its personal opinion, I agree with you wholeheartedly there. Its interesting to think where he would have gonne if he lived much longer.

KRS is tight but I've never heard a verse of his that touches the best verses of the list I just made, I haven't heard alooot of KRS though.

I think Biggie would have gone pop, in the same way snoop has.

these threads are a pointless waste of time, but so is everything else on here. I like em.
