having the right attitude.

it's a wonder how having a good attitude makes life so much easier for everyone, and the catch is people with a fucked attitude have no idea how peaceful their life can be, and how difficult they make it for everyone else.

For real. Positivity gets you through the day. Its a bitch having to live or work with somebody with a depressing attitude. If you are comfortable with yourself you can make it through anything.

The quality of a person's life is actually determined by the daily conversation that runs through their head.

so I guess it depends on how good you are when it comes to lying to yourself?

It's only a lie when you know there's another truth. Your perception of life may be rather negative, but that doesn't mean everybody elses should be. You can call it ignorance if you like, but I bet life gets more fertile through a sense of positivism. Make that your truth, and you won't have to lie to yourself.

i'm note necessarily referring to being positive, although that also comes into it. i mean how people deal with situations, how they react when something happens, they can either freak out or be cool.

no, not at all.  The heart can always detect a lie.  So it wouldn't help to lie to yourself, that would make for uncomfortable conversation within your head.  And I was actually suggesting that the quality of converation within your head determines your level of happiness.  So honesty with yourself would definitely be more pleasing to your own heart.

lol... do you honestly believe that, or is that just something your religion somehow tells you to believe?

Ofcourse I honestly believe that.  Tell me which part of it is hard for you to believe?

Your telling me that your own heart would feel comfortable with being lied to?

Of course not. But you're telling me that my own heart would feel comfortable with a fucked up reality. I disagree.

^ No offense, but aren't you bittered either way? Either you hate not knowing the full truth, or you hate the fact that you have the harsh truth you were looking for?

Quote from: Chamillionaire
Telling yourself it's gon get better, but ain't believing a word

That's basically what my point comes down to. If something simply sucks, some people be like "have a more positive attitude", "look at the bright sight", "things will get better" etc... but at the end of the day, you're just lying to yourself if you believe that. It's not helping, unless you're a pretty fucking good liar.

And it's not just about being bitter about everything, it's about being real with yourself. If something is dope, don't take anything away from that fact, and enjoy it. But I disagree with people who call it an attitude problem when somebody simply acknowledges the fact that something sucks.

^ Yeah, I respect that, that's some decent honesty. More people need that.

Question is, what do you value? With such a stance on life, you sure as hell must be something close to an objectivist to be able to survive mentally. That is: do you rule out the suckers in life, minimize your external dependency and recognise the virtue in your personal goals? Because I seem to remember that's not really you either...
