Thoughts on "the prophet mohamed"
« on: July 02, 2007, 06:23:03 PM »
I started reading the koran a while ago and it wasn't what i expected. it was so built around repetition of phrases that if it premiered into todays mainstream it would probably be laughed at by critics for a poor attempt at brainwashing. I was also reading up on who the mohamed character was, and his story had a lot of similarities to joseph smith and the mormons or even hp lovecraft with scientology. he was basically your everyday fuckbag, who out of nowhere started telling people that he had visions of god and such. (hashish?) however unlike most of the off brand religions you see today he convinced his "followers" to use violence and so it was throughout violence and takers much like the christian crusades that islam was spread. do the muslim users of this site recognize that their religions past is just as much faulted as their christian counterparts, if not more? i'm not a christian, not religious at all but i'm not an atheist. i'm not trying to put down islam but with all the recent exposure of radical muslim fanatics in the world, i was wondering they realize they are just like every other religion, or do they really believe their shit doesn't stink like that?

ure post is full of incorrect assumptions. research, re write, re post.
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

whilst on my lunch break at work, some guys were giving out free english translations of the qu'ran outside an old shutdown shoe shop, so i decided to take one and see what all the hype was about

after a quick flick through, it was nothing more than a bunch of statements, just in some sort of random order

what was all that about?

The Qur'an is all verses or suras.. They go from longest (beginning) to shortest (end)..
