???

Perhaps you should have either taken some time to define "ol' school classics", or haven't asked people for their subjective views if you were going to be a bitch about it. A Tribe Called Quest's Scenario just so happens to be "my old school classic". I would love to hear some rappers spit new verses over that blazing hot old school sound. That's what I subjectively call old school.

Zilla - Why don't you trying being creative and finding your own samples seeing as no one else is helping you with your vague little thread. You are acting like you're better than these people just because they aren't giving you the answers you want. And for the record New York Garbage (dipset, bad boy, black star, dj premier) >>>> you and your little buddies "trench mob". who are you trying to convince?

It's 2007, so I'm going to go ahead and consider 1994 as being old school.. therefore, my old school jam for this week is "This DJ" by Warren G.

I'm trynna be better than people? how do you draw that conclusion? ahahah y'all just lookin for a reason to hate now.. I got more than enough songs, I was just lookin for more ideas.. I'm not talkin about hip hop AT ALL.. I know my hip hop classics more than 95% of people here.. I'm talkin bout ol school funk, light rock, r&b, reggae and whatever else people jam to where they're from, what your moms bump.. that one song you always thought would sound good with a rapper spittin on it.. I guess an "old school jam" has a different meaning where I'm from.. I don't think I made this thread vague at all.. the point of it is easy to understand.. we just have too many young souls in here.

and if you got somethin to say about "me and my little buddies", my office and studio doors are open every single day.. either come see me about somethin.. or drop that bitch shit, sittin behind a computer, tough guy.

I know my hip hop classics more than 95% of people here..

:loser:

I'm talkin bout ol school funk, light rock, r&b, reggae and whatever else people jam to where they're from, what your moms bump.. that one song you always thought would sound good with a rapper spittin on it.. I guess an "old school jam" has a different meaning where I'm from.. I don't think I made this thread vague at all.. the point of it is easy to understand.. we just have too many young souls in here.

Well, obviously it actually was extremely vague, since no one could grasp your intentions from your opening post. You come in here and ask about peoples "ol' school jams" to add verses to... Obviously people are going to think of hip-hop when you put it that way. When you say "ol' school" I don't think of funk or r&b. That has little to do with young souls or anything likewise - it's just a vague term a lot of people don't use the way you intended.

But speaking of vintage music... I've always wanted to hear a rapper spit something over Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco"... LOL 8) Other than that, I guess it would be rather impractical to flip jazz tunes, but if you are going to, flip Dave Brubeck's "Take Five"!
