Until I've listened to every hip-hop track ever recorded from the time hip-hop was invented until now, I don't have time to listen to any Rock.

then you're missing out on a lot of good music.  For someone that acts like he is enlightened and open minded you are one close minded individual.

I am open-minded, I listen to hip-hop from the West Coast and the East Coast!  I listen to conscious hip-hop and gangsta shit.  I listen to 90's hip-hop and hip-hop from the 80's.  I listen to underground and mainstream hip-hop joints (but only from the 90's). 

Or maybe I should force myself to listen to rock music, even though I don't like it, just so that people won't say I'm closed minded?

The question they are getting at is how do you know you won't like it. Just because you came up with hip hop doesn't mean you have to listen to every single song from it before you listen to any rock (of course this is all hypothetical since hip hop is as much rock and roll as punk or metal are). You came up with Christianity too. What if you took the same approach as you did with Islam and decided to read every single piece of Christian literature before you decided to study Islam? You'd still be reading pre potestant texts.


 Here is something from "rock" that may be more indentifiable with your life than any hip hop song I've ever heard. For the sake of how long we've known each other on this forum give it a listen and tell me what you think. This isn't a joke and thin't a song making fun of you. It's a real song and a real artist that I think you might like.

Yeah I got all the Mars Volta and At The Drive-In albums. Seen Mars Volta live a handful of times too. John Frusciante from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers plays with them sometimes. They go great together even though Omar Rodriguez is a damn virtuoso on a guitar too.
