I am open-minded, I listen to hip-hop from the West Coast and the East Coast!  I listen to conscious hip-hop and gangsta shit.  I listen to 90's hip-hop and hip-hop from the 80's.  I listen to underground and mainstream hip-hop joints (but only from the 90's). 

Or maybe I should force myself to listen to rock music, even though I don't like it, just so that people won't say I'm closed minded?

Radiohead, I can't figure out if i would classify them as rock but they are damn good. I know they started out as an alternative rock group but they've branched off to doing like industrial, ambient, trippy music. Maybe thats what you would classify as alternative these days though.

Radiohead does beautiful shit. Pyramid Song, Creep, Karma Police, Subterranean Homesick Alien, The Bends.....that shit is rock, but it has alot of electronic production too yeah

Probably Smells Like Teen Spirit. Not much of a contest for me, as I can't stand the majority of rock music. Most of it sounds too forced, like trance music.

see the problem here is who is saying it.  Everyone knows your opinion on rock music and people that listen to rock music.  And how you look down on anyone that listens to rock music.  So maybe if it wasnt someone with the rep you have, what you said could be believable.  The sad thing is on certain subjects no one can take you serious anymore.
