That's nothing like what just happened...I never said Euro's have to call it soccer. I said the Euros should add "soccer" or "futbol" or something in the title that will avoid confusion. It's played in Canada also, and it used to be played in Europe.

Soccer Rugby and more

American Football has it roots both in soccer and rugby. A form of soccer was played as early as 206 BC in the Han Dynasty of China when teams competed in a game called Tsu Chu to celebrate the Emperors Birthday. The roots of the rugby type games go back to 11th century england when young boys played a tackle game with an inflated cow bladder.
