Heres what somebody said on Boxden about EAC rips, apprantley its a great thing:

Damn son are you for real? EAC = Exact Audio Copy (the only way to rip an album, everything else is ass) LAME = the encoder

Combined it's the process in which every rip on the scene is done by the groups. THere's a whole section on here dedicated to EAC/LAME rips. The best quality possible
