Like I said, I'm done with this BUT as long as we're getting into semantics...I'm an English major and can't resist so that said...it is kind of ridiculous to say it's not a deception because he didn't tell the dude he WASN'T gonna look at his phone. It's still deceptive to have someone distract so that someone else could grab the phone. i'd call that a prank or a 'trick'. and a "trick", by definition and nature, is some kind of deception I would think.
