LOL @ Our Mini Earthquake

Yes England had alittle earthquake yesterday. As I've never felt an earthquake before I was slightly worried. It was only about 4.8 on the Richter Scale, which isn't much.

they said it was a 4.8 on ch4 news.

small by international standards, but the biggest in the UK for 10 years.

I heard/felt it :)  We are miles away from the centre but it was like someone really lardy had run across the floorboards outside the room.  I just thought it was next door neigbours or something until I saw the news this morning and then it made sense.

Is the UK on a fault?

4.8 ain't too bad. It's like between mild and medium. I still remember the huge 6. something quake we had in Cali on Jan. 17, 1994.

the town at the epicentre is above a small series of faults.
there arent any major faults in the uk.

neckio lives 1/2 mile from me, so i should have been able to feel it.. i was prolly asleep.

oh and the epicentre is about 150 miles or so from here.
