Just picked this up when I was at Frys. Shit is pretty ill! Only about three tracks in but it's solid. What are your thoughts on this album?

I think "The W" suffered from the label forcing them to bring in all those guest appearances. It made the album sound less cohesive or at times downright awkward (see Snoop on MC conditioner). Save (maybe) Nas on "The my niggas live" nobody had any business being on a 13 track Wu-tang album. Had they not gone that route I think the W would have been much better received.

I thought all 3 of those collabos (Redman, Snoop & Nas) were good and didn't bring it down. I think the album is missing the charisma of ODB (which I think was on the run at the time of this record right?).

The W = underrated as hell. In my opinion it's easily the best Wu album after 36 Chambers.

the only track i didnt like was let my niggas live, other than that every track is solid, production is crazy as usual like every wu album,

a great collabo with snoop and odb although it wasnt neccessary on a 13 track wu album
