anybody clarify how bet can say this dude faces up to 10 years?? how is this shit not potential life sentencing??

Life sentencing?  He hasn't killed anybody (that we know of).  Is that even a serious question?
iight my bad, but how is 10 years the max??

Because that's the provision of the National Firearms Act of 1934.  What do you think it should be?

well they said if convicted of the charges (i'm guessing they meant all charges, because they didn't specify specifics) it would be 10

i thought it was quite short considering that's if convicted of all charges

im actually quite happy 10 is the max, lets keep it at that ;)

ppl was talking (like i said) like 20-50 years was a possibility, and if 10 is MAX, he won't serve no more than 7-8 even if convicted on all charges

Nope, but he could theoretically be charged for up to 10 years for each count of violating the NFA, meaning 50 years.  A Class III item is a Class III item...there's no legal distinction between a machine gun and a silencer in sentencing.  In practice, this never happens.  He'll more than likely be charged on a single count.

awesome news

Not really.  Even if he only gets 7-8 years, he'll be in his mid-30s by the time he's out.  Even if he recorded 1,000 new songs before he went it, that would probably damage his career.

but chances are dude ain't gonna get hit up with a max sentence of 10 years (even if so, probably only serve 7-8)...so i'm thinkin more like a 5 year sentence..he'd be 32, not TOO bad

Lol in his case, his career is over for the next 7-8 years, and will never be the same. When he comes out he'll be a huge "what if" story. If he takes your route - his life is over completely!

that's if he gets the MAX sentence which i doubt he will (he'd do 7-8 of the 10)

3-5 years won't do him 2 bad

I really don't know.  We'll see what happens once he's been formally charged (which he hasn't been yet).  But NFA violations are very, VERY serious.
