jrome, another verse i meant to post (my personal fav T.i 1 of all time, but those others are dope 2):

Open my eyes, see the sunrise
Talkin about memories of G's got my tongue tied
Pour out some Henn for my friend, why the good die?
But til the end, I'm in the wind where the slugs fly
Pray for my sins, I hope I find Heaven close to me
Try to be Godly but these haters provokin me
Pull my shotty want them dead is what my heart say
My hard head make me learn shit the hard way
Dodging the fedz ain't the easy way to live cat
But n*gga do it everyday to make a mill stack
Your phone tapped, under surveillance, secretly indicted
Being watched daily, livin shady just to drive a Merdedes
And fucking ladies, who making babies used against you
Your enemy be the main nigga you be a friend to
How can begin to explain the pain
Can you stand the rain?
It used to be a simple thing, but the game done changed
Now slanging caine is a lifestyle
Risking your freedom just to ball for a short while
Gettin buckwild on the streets of the Westside
Down in Atlanta, where we ride some of the best died
From cocking hammers of these Tec-9s and .45s
Excuse my grammar; but it's fucked up how time fly
It seem like yesterday we play until our days was nights
And yesterday, I just put flowers at his gravesite and that ain't right

o shit now jrome's gotta come back wit some fyiaaaa lol

word its gettin heated
tell me that shit ain't dope??

it is, it is...but lets forget bout it...no offense but t.i. isnt that wack jrome my dude. LETS JUST BANG SUM FUCKIN TUPAC AND ROLL SOME WEED. THEN WELL ALL GO TO SLEEP!  8) 8) 8)
i can't blame jrome...he probably heard T.i more recently and wasn't interested in goin back 2 peep his old shit...i was lucky 2 catch T.i at the peak of his ability...when he was straight rippin shit up...he can still do that, but doesn't choose 2 as often...peep his verse on the new scarface single, he ripped it

actually no he doesn't need 2 come back because i didn't call any of his fav artists "rap whores" or "corny" or "generic & boring"...there is NO possible hating on ANY of the verses i just posted, ESPECIALLY this one...no offence 2 jrome, he a cool dude & i got mad respect 4 em, but ppl listen 2 an artist and label them things without knowing the full truth about them...peep T.I.'s 01-03 shit, and half of it dope as this

Who are my favorite "rappers"?  If you called them any of those things and substantiated it, I wouldn't have a problem.  Rappers success and acceptance doesn't make me feel better about myself.

TI is a mediocre talent.  Like I said, he may shine compared to his contemporaries, but to most people that been payin attention to Hip Hop as long as I have aren't impressed.  I'm not saying that he doesn't have some skill, I'm just saying that his success in the mainstream today doesn't annoint him as talented.  It really just shows how diluted the current talent pool is.

TI 01-03 may be better than TI 07, but the difference isn't that great.  Rubberband Man was cool, but that was it.  It's no different than his shit today - nice beat, overly catchy popped out hook, generic lyrics.  It's just as boring to me now as it was then.  His singles are trite and give me no reason to want to buy his albums.

Lunatic, +1 for posting those lyrics. "No More Talk" is actually the song that made me started liking him. That and "Be Easy" are hella slept on.

i wasn't saying anything about ur fav rappers...no he's far from a mediocre talent, and the lyrics i posted prove that

funny i am saying the time BEFORE his success & popularity came he was amazing, so u can write off the "success in the mainstream doesn't anoint him talent, because i never said that :-\

u may not be impressed, but i know many that are..i'm not tryna call him the greatest ever or anything like that, but 2 call him "wack" (when i've clearly shown concrete evidence with great lyrics like that) is just as far from the truth as calling him the GOAT

the difference is pretty great...if not, it would only be because he would be coming "tight" im 07 for u 2 say that, because he was fantastic in 01-03

Rubber Band Man was actually 1 of the worse songs off that album (which is certified southern classic in most ppl's books)..that song is actually a bad example for that album

put up rubber band man vs. no more talk, be easy, i can't quit, doin my job, long live da game, ti vs tip, i still luv u & you or anyone for that fact will lose the argument

singes are meant to wanna attract an audience, and most rappers that drop singles drop club songs/love songs or something catchy like rubber band man..but that album is filled with great, creative, deep-thought songs that i posted above

im confused, i heard 10 is the realistic MAX they can hit him with :-\  now he's facing AT LEAST 10 if convicted??

Well, 1st off he tried to purchase assault weapons which are completely illegal even to legitimate gun owners, dealers and military. On top of that the assault weapons he tried to purchase were silenced assault weapons which is probably the worst possible federal firearms felony class offense on the books. Then the they find the guy had a fucking assortment of assault weapons in his possession which isn't like having a little Glock with the serial number scratched out, that's fucking bad.

With all those guns I wouldn't be surprised if the Federal Attorney tries to convict T.I. as an illegal ARMS DEALER. To which he would probably get like 25 to life. And in Federal court?.... Yeah,  basically he's completely fucked.

I have always liked TI's music. I think his personal swagger and the way he carries himself surpasses his lyrical skill. But ya got to give the man credit, he said he was the King of the South and to the majority he is. Other than Flip, no one really questioned it. But IMO personally he MIGHT make my top 10 of favorite mcs in the south.

Assault weapons of the semi-automatic-only type (which constituted most of the guns you see in the picture) are legal.  Machine guns (fully automatic) are not unless they're registered with the BATF.

I mentioned this before, but people weren't listening to me.  It's 10 years for EACH COUNT of violating the National Firearms Act.  He did it five times by purchasing three machine guns and two silencers.  So theoretically, 50 years is possible.  That's why it didn't make sense to me when I heard this "up to 10 years" shit.

Prodigy of Mobb Deep recently got sentenced to 3 and a half years for getting busted wit one pistol....lol T.I. is offically fucked, dude got caught wit an arsenal....it would be some amazing shit if his lawyer gets him off, but i bet 10 years is the least dude will get, probally get out in like 7 or 6 maybe... either way i dont think will hear from him in awhile, in the mean time for some extra cash and since the songs will be dated by the time he gets out to record new shit, they should release an album by him with the leftovers from T.I. vs T.I.P. i heard he had some tracks with big name artists like akon, weezy, eminem, andre 3000 and probally more that he didnt put on the album.

Look at how many of these clowns the last 5 years have claimed "king".  It's fuckin retarded and means jack shit today.  All these cats come in and think that just cuz they say that the shit is true.  When people hear that shit enough, eventually they believe it and that's the case here.

TI is nowhere near the best in the south.  Talk to me in 15 years or so.  If he's still regarded as the greatest we'll talk.  Until then, he's nothin but a fad.

And since we're posting lyrics and throwin around the word "Classic", check this shit:

Definition of Classic:

Is y’all ready for Twenty-0-7, it’s now another drought
Everyone’s a killer, wow we buggin out
Since 86 showin the crowd what I’m about
And they still want to know when the album comin’ out
Ask the teenagers, O’Gs and Ask the kids
What they definition of Classic is
Timeless, cause age don’t count in the booth
And your flow stays submerged in the fountain of youth

Perseverance, see the fake hustler rapper to them it hurts to hear this
O you went platinum – yeah that’s nice, now let me see you do the same thing twice
Three times, 4 times, then a couple of more times, please your amateur night is show time
It’s one life to live so live it the best you can, the world could use one less man

How many y’all got criminal minded you you you y’all don’t be blinded
Me I got no jewels on my neck, why – I don’t need ‘em I got your respect
KRS 1 20 years I rock I do it for JMJ and Scott LaRock – this hip hop
And we’s a nation, don’t you want to hear more KRS on your radio station?
Instead of broadcasting how we smokin’ trees, on the radio we need to hear more local MC’s
Where you at? tell me where you at? This is the difference between MC’ing and rap
Rappers spit rhymes that are mostly illegal, MC’s spit rhymes to uplift they people
Peace, love, unity, and Havin’ fun, these are the lyrics of KRS One

Yeah I hear what you saying. King Of The South begins and ends with Scarface IMO. But I respect TI's hustle, he doing his thing.
