it's an interesting idea, but if he died, rest assured there'd be some other corporate honcho to do the exact same shit he does.

You´re smart enough to understand that "Jimmy" is a metaphor.... or?

what we have to do is stop supporting mainstream rap.

It´s funny because "everyone" hates pop rap,but when one their albums drops "everbody" goes crazy....
Just look at all the threads the last 50 and Kanye albums got,hypocrites.....anyone?  :P :P
So actually "we" should take a look at "ourself"....

Quote
The artists who are getting played have no say as to who doesn't get play!
So why get mad at the kid that's number 1, because your guy isn't number 1?
The guy who's number has nothing to do with whether your guy is number 1!
You know what I'm saying?
A lot of people are mad, they have this anger, they wanna be mad at somebody, but they don't really know who to be mad at!
If you're a consumer, you gotta be mad at yourself!

WORD! ^^^^^^^

if i read the whole thread, i probably would have gotten that some of y'all mean it metaphorically. but all the posts i read (ie: the first page mainly) actually discussed killing Iovine LOL

I guess we have different agendas, but I consider you a smart cat, actually the "smartest".
So would expect that you would read something else into this....
I don´t want to turn this into a political discussion, but who is to blame for the on going war?
well, some stupid fucker voted for that idiot Bush, know what I´m saying?
You can apply this all things in life,we´re the consumer... so....
Don´t come with all that shit that there ain´t alternatives.... if you got that mind set you´re already lost.  >:( >:(

I look at the political system like one of those old school water powered energy converters. Those windmill like devices that require water pressure moving through it to power shit?

The contraption is the political system, and the water is political participation/votes. If it ain't getting water, that wheel ain't spinning. If we ain't voting, the political system ain't doing what we want it to do.

The system ain't broke; we ain't using it.

Not saying that leaders aren't corrupt, but we allowed them to be corrupt by paying more attention to American Idol than the American president.

the numbers are just a method of measurement....if most citizens were active participants, the leaders wouldn't have nowhere to hide. we'd get senators to legislate regulations and checks and balances and shit.

So if you ain´t talking about measurements, then you´re talking about actually talking about taking action, right?
There was a thread like year ago about a dude that visited us from the future (yeah, right  :P ),
he said there was a civil war coming. So it might come to this if it really gets ruff.  :P

we'd get senators to legislate regulations and checks and balances and shit.

lol, i expected the movement would get a little more attention than it has right now; oh well, it is what it is  :P

even if the word reached the aftermath "circle" it wouldn't change anything anyway, although it would have been hilarious to see in interviews with one of the aftermath artists, that the movement caught their attention though   :D

oh well, as long as Dre delivers Detox this year and will work on some other good projects (like voice threw hot vessels) i'm satisfied.
fuck the crossover shit, aftermath will eventually die because of that if you look at the current state of the rap music industry.

wait so white people aren't allowed to use controversial terms for artistic purposes? Okay.

and Patti Smith's a ridiculously respected poet and rocker but okay.

either way, I think you're missing the point. Iovine as an individual is whatever, but he's symbolic of larger negative trends in the industry as previously discussed.

i dont care if someone is considered the best at whatever, it doesnt make it fact.  its all OPINIONS.

just because most people think that the beatles are the greatest group ever, it dont make it fact...and someone who disagrees isnt wrong, either...cause its just his/her opinion.

my point is this: fuck jimmy iovine 8)
