I had the braking 2 ost on vinyl that I still own to this day. I also had a force mds & rakim cassette that I stole off my older sister. Then I got into 2-live crew, NWA. Cypress Hill was the first cd I bought in 92. But I can say I first started to listen to hip hop in 86'87 when i was 8 or 9. Before that it was the oldies station or MJ.

I learnt allot from hip hop even though it isn't my favorite genre of music. Reggae and Dancehall is my shit growing up and DJ'n in Toronto...

Shit i been around it basically my whole life. From my cousins listening to it, to seeing it on T.V and what not. I dont really know what introduced me FIRST to it. Maybe some Eazy-E and Too Short, im guessing. But thats when i really got into rap, when i heard them two, i dont know what first got me into hip-hop though, there were so many hits back in the day!!!

Now I am 21, but I was around 15 when i first started really getting into rap. You always see some rap videos on MTV, puffy and pac, but I remember it was afroman that really got me into rap. If you look beyond " because i got high " to tracks like " basehead boogie " , dude could rap! Then i hit the motherload when i discovered Swollen members - Bad dreams, the album.. jesus! That shit is so crazy

im a youngster so the first hiphop song i REALLY REALLY took notice to and really went out of my way to get was "Bad Intentions" by Dr Dre/Knocturnal..that was my first ever "real" favorite hiphop song, and thats why i like knocturnal so much ;)

The Wash is also the first album i ever bought and after hearing "str8 west coast" i had my first ever favorite artist ;)

I´ve heard Vanilla Ice, Hammer and Salt N Peppa and.............

whoever else they played on the radio in the late 80s, early 90s.

I first heard Str8 outta compton when I was like 8 or 9, I was just shocked at the swearing, but when I heard it the second time a few years later I was blown away.

I REMEMBER WHEN MY MOMS USE TO TRASH MY SHIT.. WHEN SHE HEARD IT...I ALWAYS HAD A SECOND COPY THANKS TO VIP RECORDS IN COMPTON...NWA WAS ALL TIME FAVORITE.. REAL GANGSTA SHIT
hahaha funny shit,i remember my mom told my dad on me for listening to mc shy d and made me turn it off hahahahahaha, to this day i never heard that whole song, all i remember is "cause it's cold muthafucca" haha yell

For me, it was NWA and the Posse on tape.  I remember listening to Eazy-E's "I got a fat girl, on my jock", lol.
