In 2007 a lot big rap names dropped their albums, but it was a disappointing year overall. I don't think 2008 will be anything different.

One half of the albums mentioned won't come out in 2008, the other half will be a complete disappointment (that is: if you're expecting great music, or even classics).

Looking forward to another great year in music? How do you expect any great music to come out when the current state of popular culture and the entertainment business is the way it is right now? Only an eccentric artist could pull that off. Ask yourself, how many eccentric artists have been mentioned here thus far?

^^^^ a great year for nowadays standard i.e some consistent albums ... and regardless the current state of popular culture , making innovative and groundbreaking music isn't that easy to make .. very few artists are able to do it ... labels politics have their part of responsability when it comes to this no- innovative and weak music but the fact lots of artists aren't talented shouldn't be overlooked ... of course on the other hand , you can say labels don't give their chance to the true/right artists too ...

I just want hip hop to feel alive again. It hasn't been like that since 2003. Nowadays, we make this yearly lists and half of the albums don't get released and the other half sucks. There's like 2 or 3 quality mainstream releases per year  :-X

Never too sure what's gonna come out before hand. Can't tell how the year's gonna be.

2007 had plenty of quality releases though.
